I mean, i'm renewing PS Plus constantly, but i have plenty of single player games to play if i decide to not put PS plus, but in truth, this PS4 was still to play fighting games.
on the plus side my Wii U has been getting hella use, and i don't even need the internet to have fun with it. then again, most of my wii u games are single player offline experiences and most of my ps4 games i play for the adversarial/co-operative online multiplayer
I know people have their preferences, but I honestly don't see what's so good about a Wii U compared to a PS4 or even an XBone. I enjoyed the odd game like Bayonetta 2 on it, but it is eclipsed in almost every other category by the PS4 at least (vanilla or PS4 Pro). Incredibly underwhelming system considering that it was technically competition for the PS4 & XBone but was closer in output to a PS3 or 360.
Honestly, i still play on my xbox 360 more, for ninja gaiden reasons... But, on ps4, i played a lot of great single player games. My wii u... Honestly, bayo 2 was somewhat of a disappointment, so my wii u is mostly for indie or virtual console games, wonderful 101 is super good as well.
There is also the fact that there are people out there who buy games from PSN store with an unfortunate fate that you get a locked symbol if you are not even connected online. If you buy hard discs then offline gaming is available, but if you buy games off the PSN store you are pretty much screwed until you sign in. Just imagine people who lose their net after they bought game. You won't be able to play it.
honestly other than dark souls 3 and bloodborne, most single player games on ps4 don't hold my interest, either i find them dull and stop playing halfway through or when i finish them once, i have no desire to play them ever again. but then again i might just be craZy, i did buy a wii u afterall
@DestructionBomb I think that only applies to free games gotten off of PS+, since you lose access to them if you cancel your account. As long as the console is set as a primary, the games will be playable. But yes, Physical disc > Digital.
@Camel with 2 thumbs Sounds like you may have a short attention span, but there's a crapload of great single player games out there. Also, how can you play games like Dark souls 3 & Bloodborne and not play Nioh or Nier: Automata?
@Force_of_Nature Nah, that also applies to fully purchased games as well. I bought Mass Effect: Andromeda and Tales of Berseria off PSN store. If you play the games offline your game gets suspended within 30 minutes and you'll need to sign in to play them. Signing off to play them again will get the games suspended again, so realistically you somewhat 'have' to play signed in. PS3 never had this problem.
My account is a main account as well, I don't play in a status account offline setting where no one can see me online or whatever (unless I get tons of invite is where I actually go offline). There was a random day one time where Fios was down for 2 hours so I tried those two games awhile back but no luck.
Oh, has there been any changes to PSN up late in that regard? I remember playing Core Fighters offline a few months back and it worked when I set the console to "Primary". If offline or PS+ is not active, any free games will become unplayable, but I did not know that any digitally bought games would become unplayable also (though around 98% of my game library is physical). If that is the case that indeed sucks.
I only have roughly 6-7 games that are digital. A few of them are games that never went physical copies (something like Warriors Orochi for example). Tales of Berseria is definitely one of them I bought digital (I should of went with physical) and I remember trying to play it with a Fios downtime update for 2 hours and got kicked off 30 minutes later saying that it'll be suspended or something like that.
i've played the nioh alpha and beta and i borrowed it from a friend when it came out, i like the game, and i'll be buying my own copy soon enough. Nier, i played the demo a bunch and im just not feeling the combat, something about it feels...off
Nier Automata's combat is great, especially once you get to customize the upgrades for your character. Very fluid, especially when you're able to fight off hordes of enemies. Easily one of the top games released this year overall.
Nier is really good. Sadly most of the sales was captured by players who looked at deviantart artists making her thicc and naked to get people to play it along with tropes of typical obvious trends. Combat is good. The trends behind it? Eh. There is someone I know on FB who bought the game but did not play it. He admitted to only buy the game because he likes 2B. That's it. Game still in plastic.
Not to mention that PS4's game library trumps XBone's game library this year at least.
