Nier Automata offers a better overall experience, better world to explore/transverse, better music and story, but play through the other games dude. Lots of good games have come out this year! Red Dead Redemption 2 is around the corner also!
Nier Automata has better music, and stops there, NiOH offers better gameplay mechanics overall, and while the narrative doesn't go as deep as Automata, it made me care for the characters more. I never played a persona before, and i don't care about ubisoft to play horizon, i'll get zelda sometime in the future though.
Maybe. Nioh is top 3 for sure, and one of my new favorite games of all time. Horizon Zero Dawn and Persona 5 rival it though. I'd find it hard to choose.
Persona 5 was great, but wasn't as good as previous games in a few aspects. The absolute worst part of that game was Morgana forcing you to go to bed on plot days which never happened in previous games.
Horizon Zero Dawn is not a Ubisoft game dude lol. If it was it would be shit, which it isn't. Guerilla Games stepped up immensely for Horizon. Nier Automata's story is better than Nioh's, which I felt was a weakness of Nioh. Never really was a moment when I was ever really into Nioh's characters or story. Though it was the same for me with the Ninja Gaiden games. Nioh's combat is top notch though. Very solid.
I got pretty invested in Nioh's story for some reason, maybe it is my inner weeb talking, Nier Automata had great story, but everything was expected knowing yoko taro's writing, but, i normally chose games by gameplay and art direction, and i think that NiOH trumps Nier Automata on both, and while it doesn't have the same tier soundtrack, it has a very solid one.
I guess I just didn't find Nioh's narrative interesting because of how broken up it felt at times. I liked the connection that 2B & 9S formed in Nier:A in contrast. Nier:A's art direction is a bit more interesting. Nioh I feel is harmed a bit by everything having to be so dark all the time. Nier:A is just a lot better to look at, especially in the main region. Nioh also has too many instances where there's no BGM.
Don't get me wrong, I still think Nioh is amazing, but it's not exactly perfect either. The music that is present is great (Dat Ogress boss music), and the graphics kick the shit out of Bloodborne. Slaughtering Yokai is always a blast, especially in co-op. But still, my point stands, lots amazing games released this year. PS4 has been kicking ass.
