Actually President Evil 5 has a wider Colour Palette and more varied Environments. President Evil 4 is the one thats always Brown Everywhere all the Time, its an old game and it shows it.
President Evil 6 is harder to place. Individually all its mechanics (except the Inventory System) are big improvements but for whatever reason, the game as a whole just doesn't feel like its better than its Predecessors.
i played RE4 once, i've played RE5 a bunch of times, dunno if i'd say RE5 is better though, i think that it's more geared for repeat playthroughs if that makes any sense, also the co-op is nice.
but this conversation is irrelevant because RE6 trumps both of them, well, it's the one i enjoy the most
RE6 is definitely not better than RE4 or 5 imo. Way too many QTEs and vehicle sequences that ruined the game…
Tbh, I only got 5 and 6 so I could play with my sister. I had better memories with 4 and played through it tons of times.
President Evil 4 also some how has worse RPG Elements than 5 did. Which is very strange to me. Normally the trend goes the other way around. Its usually the newer games trying to cram leveling systems into every orifice of gameplay but It's nice to see 5 not fall into that Trap.
Upgrading weapons isn't really an RPG element though. I mean there are secrets and rewards in the game and you can use them to upgrade your gear, seems like a totally fine feature to me.
Upgrading and Leveling are essentially the same thing, the point is you are given a weak and useless character and the designers insist that you balance the game's mechanics rather than they do it them selves. Its annoying.
Its what makes President Evil 5 feel better. Chris & Sheva have enough health, don't have shaky hands and have plenty of storage. The only annoyance you have to deal with is the guns.
In Mecenaries Mode you don't have to bother with any of that junk at all... everything is perfectly balanced from the get go.
Resident 5 is better than Resident Evil 4 in the sense that it's actually more fun to play and doesn't have Ashley. It's a well designed co-op game like Resident Evil 6. RE4 is a better survival horror game though (however RE1-3 & CV are more the real deal in survival horror).
Resident Evil 6 hands down has the best mechanics and controls, however the overall game structure is dragged by the incessant need to be "Hollywood" and "Cinematic" all the time making the game feel like an attempt at an Uncharted wannabe. Though, RE4, 5 & 6 are all good in their own ways. I personally have a blast with RE5's & RE6's co-op, and can enjoy RE4's atmosphere.
It basically boils down to RE5 being an arcade game turned into a AAA title. Gameplay wise, it truly is, the best RE game to date. Problem is, it's not even a RE game to begin with
RE4 as a whole though, is the pinnacle of the series, very little can be said otherwise.
Also. Saying the predecessors to RE5, were not in the least scary. That's just straight up lies.
Its my bad opinion that RE6 is a better game than RE5
