There's a reason why most are ignored. I don't get easily fooled to buy a low budget RPG with typos and bad VAs by Compile Heart. FF is definitely overrated, but there is not enough "good' RPGs to rival Square's games besides Tales series.

Dark Cloud was a good game though. Some missed out on that, not their fault when games like that don't get advertised as strongly.

The 6th generation of consoles has the biggest amount of underrated gems, including JRPGs. Shadow Hearts, Soul Nomad, Baroque, .hack//G.U, and the list goes on
