2) the second reason (Main source) is because of his character movelist and in animation. It has 0 to do with execution. You have people who don't even play DOA sitting in the crowd with us who doesn't know about Akira's high execution barrier chanting because of the way his combos look, juggle, and in animation. You pop "one" shoulder and people start yelling.

Terurock: In the americas and sometimes over in acho, akira do one move and people can go loud ! sometimes unnecessary i feel but it is very fun to hear

- It shows that if you don't bring a good viewing to a crowd then no one is going to watch. Akira's movelist is an equivalent to an Izuna drop. You do a simple jab with Akira in open space and people yell aye for no reason.

Despite some characters harder to play with than others, usually those cases is because of the incredible drawback reward for pulling those moves, it has nothing to do with getting a boner for doing hard moves. That's just the fetish from them, not the real reason on why.

However there is a something thats been over looked in that argument and its something rather large.

Are Convoluted motions the only real way of balancing out these moves.

Well obviously not. Infact I don't even think its the easiest method for a developer to do.

For going on topic, there are some companies that create hard to play characters that provide little reward in return somewhat. Raidou is a good example of this.

In 3rd strike, people get horny over at the arcades on YT when Yun puts out the blue meter in netting combos that is outside of the standard links. That is key to netting viewers to sit down without even knowing on what's going on. VF4 SPoD is another example when Oneida from VFDC showed the clip. It's the way the moves look to get people to watch, not the execution. Same as the Mishimas in Tekken.

The good news is that Rapist Bastard is not exactly the type of character people will like so that kind of stops it from being an issue.

Now Imagine if Raidou was.... I don't know.... like Nathan Drake or whoever. That would be messed up.

i know this status is old but after playing Ignis from nitroplus blasterz im gonna add her to the list. the amount of execution and awareness needed to land her BnB's and getting her offence started is annoyingly hard. it's escpecially annoying when saya (my actual main) does the same exact thing as ignis but with more consistency and less execution

I wonder how much longer developers will continue to do stuff like this.

Will I even still be gaming when they finally realise theres no point in Execution for Execution's sake ?

Execution isn't really useless though. It separates the people that put in work versus the people that pick up a character in like 5 minutes.

LoL... and why do those people need to be Seperated ?

some ppl mentioned it before about how certain powerful moves are kept behind an execution barrier so it's not abused by every tom dick and harry that picks up the game, and I definitely get that feeling with ignis

I don't know about Ignis but I've been having doubts about that in some Street Fighter characters....

she has some of the best oki in the game, can convert off of her half screen normals without meter (something alot of characters can't do), she has a 9 frame command grab that leads to death (makoto style baby), she is quite a threat, so it makes sense that they would make her finicky and weird, if eveyone could do it then everyone would be playing her and it wouldn't be hype to actually land this stuff in a match

LoL... yeah but even if just one person could use her effectively then that by itself is problematic.

Besides how many people watching would even be aware of how difficult she is ?

Anyone watching and knowing the game will know how difficult Ignis is and will appreciate someone utilizing them properly. If they were easy, you'd get, like, a Rachel situation where any joe blow can derp with them.

The people unaware of how difficult someone is probably don't understand the game anyway.

@Force_of_Nature
LoL... And whats wrong with people Derping (whatever that means) with Rachel ?

As for the spectators if they can't do the moves they probably don't understand whats so special about them anyway aswell.

Really it can go either way.

@Force_of_Nature this is why everyone loves an Ignis player, but no one gives a shit if you play Saya, cause you're just a scrub who plays low execution S-tiers
