DOA, Tekken, etc, I'm just not a fan of 2d characters in a 3d games.

Mai in DOA5LR is fine, but the 2D's in Tekken 7 are kinda dumb and change how the game is played.

I honestly don't like Mai in DOA. But if I say my reasons I'll have people say "get good" or whatever though I did beat Mai in a tourney scenario and I'm taking time off from DOA so I'll just say that I don't like Mai, Eliza, etc.

Fireballs in 3d games are a mixed bag for me, I didn't mind them in doa dimensions, I like them t7 (dark wave feints are awesome), in doa they're interesting but nothing to complain about

Just for the sake of confirmation regarding Tekken, Harada built Akuma and Geese from scratch with his team. He never got the assets to port them. Not even kidding, you can look it up on his article regarding Noctis inclusion. He was asked on how he made Akuma and Geese.

Which is nuts because I always believed Akuma was ported from his SFIV version and just re-assembled his movelist to fit in Tekken and yet I still think he feels clunky as shit. Now it's not a actual debate since the leading team man just said he made them from scratch. Geese I can believe, but Akuma? that's hard to believe.

i wouldn't say 2D characters annoy me in 3D games, but 2D sensibilities in 3D games annoy me. time stopping super flashes, invincible moves, meter gain, that's the kind of stuff where im like keep that shit away from my 3D fighters please

I like Mai in DOA because her playstyle is unique, yet she still feels like a 3D fighter character. Team Ninja did an excellent job on her. The 2D characters in Tekken 7 have been faithfully recreated, but if I wanted to play against a 2D character, I'd play a 2D fighter where it feels right. Geese is still awesome though however.
