Thing is, the idea evolved as I worked on it.
I was originally going to make it just as shitty as the original layout. However, a lot of the features that were available in the old forum either (1) were not available for our forum, or (2) were outdated in ours. I found it easier to just add features as if I was making a shitty layout, rather than leave out features that you guys would like to have during the day it was up. For example, the Nav menu used our Nav options, and I had to code in the Alerts, Profile, and Conversation information in the top header area. It was a tricky balance.
It was like trying to take a high-end sports car and make it look like a family mini-van. :-/
