Im confused I thought every game had the possibility just that the makers of the particular game had to implement the feature?

It's done through hardware on 360 and can be disabled by a developer. PS3 can do it, but there are RAM restrictions.

Oh yes it most certainly does my good sir. SSF4 you can play your xmb custom music straight from your ps3 while online, and even more it can be done with the mic on as well.

Guess it does, I only did it offline, it's probably a matter of how much ram it uses.

Maybe but I just wish game developers would see this feature as a necessity for ps3. Its a big deal for me its nothing like listening to your own music while playing. Especially when with ps3 you can literally get 97% of any music free downloaded straight to your system from your web browser. It literally only takes about 1 minute to get a song.

I know some PS3 demos let you listing to your own music. Now, it would be amazing listing to some DOA3 music when playing DOA5.....I can only dream.

What you guys need to do is contact sony this issue is just going to keep happening to every PS3 game released. I myself am an audiophile so listening to my own music would be nice. Thing is this feature should be available in all PS3 games and sony also needs to add some type of party chat functionatliy which the 360 has had since the beginning.

All these useless PS3 updates and we still cant listen to our own music anytime we want when were playing PS3 games online.

Of course it is but the point is if games like TTT2 let us listen to our own customized music then we should be able to for all our games that we play online. I dont know how sony fucked up on this feature even the xbox last gen let you listen to your own music for some games like GTA san andreas.

Lets face it some fighting games soundtracks sound like they hired the guy who does background music for porn movies.

It's not that simple. On the X360 custom music is implemented in the OS, so any game can use custom songs. The PS3 OS is not made that way, and it's not possible to implement it for all games anymore, because older games already use the max of memory available and there would simply be no room to load the custom songs in. Developers need to implement it manually in their game for it to work. If Sony changes the OS for this to be possible, which probably can't even happen, only future games can make use of it. Older ones will stay as they are. It's comparable to the reason why they can't implement cross game chat.

Agree that it's up to developers to implement this. Obviously if it works for any game, it could work for all. (per DragonWarrior's examples) I don't think/agree that this is a hardware or memory issue though. The system reserved resources should easily be able to handle this (along with cross game chat, which was shown before the system launched) I believe that the reason these long asked for features are still absent after all this time is because of software patents and license issues. If Sony wanted to implement the same features as live has, they'd have to pay MS for the right to use them, that's all it comes down to. -no evidence to back this up, just my 2 cents.
