So..the next patch looks like it's going to be a balance patch and probably some bug fixes.
I've heard that patches cost a lot of money so they probably won't be patching the game too often..
(Edit:patching cost http://www.thetechgame.com/News/article/sid=3012.html)
When do you think Team Ninja should release it?

This is the best time to let TN know about all of the game's issues so that it'll be fixed in the patch.

"probably some bug fixes" lol. Don't even bother if it's not. I should be able to exit training mode without the game crashing.

Patches can be expensive after a while but if this game sells well enough i can see this game getting a few patches since it does show your fanbase that your supporting your game after its release.

I'm a little on the wall about balance patches since it could make the strategy guide obsolete. Especially when they said themselves they wouldn't patch the game to re-balance the characters since they worked hard enough to make sure everything is just right in the balance department. Hopefully it can solve the Mila infinite and the Tag Mode glitch with Eliot's juggles. The complaints about the numerous bugs should be able to get to them, so that's pretty much guaranteed at least 90% of them would be taken care of.

Even if they are expensive I feel that they kind of owe it to their fanbase. If you release a game with a lot of problems you are sorta obligated to fix it. I mean, you don't absolutely HAVE to, but why your fanbase in their face ya know?
They have to at TN .2 games in a row with unsatisfied customers is not what they want after NG 3 being so linear with no ougis and scroll hunting and no weapon leveling up........and getting sad reviews and screaming custys.. thats how devs get shut down for good

I think TN was pretty reluctant to do balance patches, and I hope they continue with that mindset. The game is less than a week old.. let it incubate a while ;) Maybe do some balance changes if there's enough player interest for a DoA 5 Hardcore.

Bug fixes and elements that are clearly "broken" are obviously another matter.

Don't they have like 2 free patches after release? If this is true, I really hope the second patch makes good use. MK9's patches were pretty much wasted, IIRC.

Are you fucking serious. Need a new distribution for patches. TN need to start creating booster discs or digital booster discs on their website.

The other problem with microsoft is the patch needs to past there testing which is why you see most patches hit the PS3 before they hit the 360. Patches can be expensive but as stated above im sure the first few are free and after that the developer/publisher starts getting charged a fee.

The Fez developers didnt want to pay the 40,000 fee actually and they stated they couldnt afford it. I agree that 40,000 to keep releasing patches for games on PS3 and the 360 is far to much money. Steam lets developers/publishers negotiate the terms which means cheaper patches.

I personally think its an outrage to charge a developer/publisher that much to implement a patch. Hopefully the first patch isnt the only free one and developers/publishers can at least release 2 patches before there charged that 40,000 dollar fee.

I really wish microsoft and any other console developer had to go to court because to me this is an injustice. Its unfortunate however there is nothing they can probably do about it except stop making games. Who gets hurt in all of this us the consumers/gamers.

I don't see why fighting game developers seem to think the term "balance" means "take away a character's good tools." That's the impression I get from this and all other interviews with fighting game developers but the Japanese ones seem extremely lopsided in that regard.

I agree for the most part but I feel that something like Ayane's 66KK is a bit more than a good tool. It needs nerfing imo.

Hayate's frame data need's serious tweaking. The guy has 4 none guarding breaking moves that're safe and they're all extremely obvious and easy to hold/sidestep. His charging mid punch guard breaks leave him at +1.. +1!!. and his 8pk guard break leaves him at -7. His options from his new stance are weak as shit.

Helena's frame data is even worse.
