Community TWFighterMajor Clips

Today Spooky's Channel was updated with DOA clips from an event that happened in Taiwan. I knew nothing about this tournament; which is strange, but this shows how far along the offline scene for DOA has come. We have tournaments going on all over the world... check out TWFM site if you want more information about the event.

Speaking of the world -- Republic of Fighters is happening tomorrow in Paris. Check the story below for all the good details including streaming information. These videos should satisfy your cravings until then:

MartianBoy... hmm name sounds familiar. This guy plays as Bass and takes on a Hitomi that tries using pressure to get to Bass. It doesn't work in the beginning, but he begins to block more and the Bass chokes a bit but still gets the win. Good tech, and good environmental damage in the early going.

This Hitomi player, 100cm, fights a Marie Rose the best he can with pressure and basic but effective strings. The Marie Rose player was doing his best to zone, and retorted with some impressive strings but was unable to cement a victory over the pressure.

In this match we see Explosion (Kasumi) take on Jingwoei (Leon) in the battle of opposites. It starts off with crazy pressure from the Kasumi, which results in some fantastic reads from Leon. Jingwoie's patience pays off and Kasumi's skull meets the wall to end the first match and the second as well.

KHR uses Kasumi to scrap with a Genfu at Home! We all know that this is Genfu's Home, but it doesn't show in this match. KHR's impressive reads coupled with his mix-ups and environmental awareness leave the Fu on the floor. For the second game Genfu can breath a little more, and wins a match but is completely overwhelmed by this impressive Kasumi.

We see some different characters here as Kiryu selects La Mariposa and Small Eyez goes for the incredible, amazing -- ultron of the game; Christie. All it takes is one bad read from the Posa to start getting wrecked by Christie's pressure. Lisa comes back with some incredible tech and environments, but it just isn't enough to win the first match.

Starting the second match at Home, Lisa becomes more comfortable and takes an impressive first round with throws and mix-ups. Though Christie is able to calm herself down and begins to download and dissect Kiryu for the win. Good games!

Jingwoie is back to fight a Bayman, and this time he is selecting the legendary Ryu Hayabusa and starts off with an awesome Izuna though the Bayman retorts with reads, counters and massive damage. After that round this match quickly becomes a tournament highlight. Has everything you would hope to see from this matchup, but Bayman takes the victory.

Jingwoie is able to adapt in the next match, and wins convincingly using guarantees and more drops which brings us to the final match that ends in a last round favoring the Bayman player.

Next we have a pretty cosplaying Honoka who plays as... Honoka vs a Marie Rose player. Honoka puts up a good fight, but is quickly taken care of by the dominant loli.

The Batman player, Tasumania prepares to fight a wild Tina and she puts up quite the fight but is unable to win more than a round against the tank. Some more offense would have proven detrimental to the Bayman, but the Tina player was too confused, and continued to be after switching to Mila and losing again. Good effort, but Tasumania prevailed.

I believe that this video is the last of the tournament, as it is the last video uploaded by Sp00ky. It would appear that a Hayate player won against overdrive's Jann Lee in the end. This was a solid event overall and I'm happy to see more events continue to happen like this going three years into DOA5's life.

(if you know any of the players names in their respective characters let me know so they are not just known as the "Hayate player.")
