What will be the fate of some characters in DOA6?

With the success that Team Ninja has had with selling costumes for certain females characters and the success of female dlc characters like Marie Rose and Honaka , do you feel that the roster will change drastically?

Mila? you don't think they would redesign her as some girly girl or delete her completely?

Christie , Tina and Lisa? Aren't they considered the less popular females? Lisa could be in the story mode but not fight at all if they wanted to.

Ein and Leon? They got in like ultimate as extras but barely. They could have easily made it so that Ein was a clone that was living differently from Hayate but it doesnt seem like they wanted to do that. They could have also just gave Hayate a Karate stance that lets him have access to the moves.

Leon is like the guy that is in Bayman's shadow and him getting into ultimate alone was a blessing but will that blessing run out in a post DOA5LR world?

Brad and Gen-Fu? Wasn't Gen-fu pretty much absent from story scenes and then Brad had like some passing the torch moment to Eliot?

Could DOA6's Roster be like this:

Kasumi Ayane Marie Rose Honaka Nyotengu Hayabusa Hayate Kasumi Clone? Alpha-152 Rig Male Bad guy? Bayman Helena Kokoro Hitomi Eliot Zack Lei fang? Bass? Jann Lee? New girls for the rest of the roster? I think Momoji could come back after getting into like DOAX3 but her and Rachel were like guests but she could become a staple.

Can DOA6 even be a roster that doesn't cause upsets with them going for the favorites and wanting new females that could rival the top 4 females in popularity? Roster is probably gonna be 20 or so characters. Even without Ein and Leon the roster would be around 30 characters to include most. New Engine might be a word that pops up and they will probably be highlighting how good it makes Kasumi , Ayane , Marie Rose , Honoka and some new girl look. With recent fighting games , you have to come to terms with loss. Games like Soul Calibur V , SFV , Tekken 7 and others had no problems with getting rid of staples. Team Ninja aren't saints unless you've been enjoying their dlc offerings and wouldn't it make sense for them to continue to chase that income?

My thoughts:

Everyone will be unlocked from the start BUT:

These characters will be in the base game roster since they're either important or staple characters. The ninjas, Helena, Rig and Phase 4 and Raidou are solidified and Marie Rose and Honoka and Nyotengu are givens too, especially Marie and Honoka due to Japanese popularity.


Debatable. She's deceased so she'll likely not return at all but she'll possibly be a hidden unlockable character but not likely since she's not very popular


Likely will not return due to being guests unless TN somehow gets permission to include them again


Team Ninja will add them as base game characters too and will find some way to include them in the plot, possibly using the same excuse and stories as before. Momiji will likely have major plot relevance alongside Ryu since she's popular


Will be included but won't have any plot relevance, likely will just be there to appease their fans. Gen fu will likely be in Eliot's plot by teaching him his techniques. Leon will probably have no plot or will just be a normal tourney contestant and Ein is Hayate's alter ego except with all his memories so he will have no story or plot relevance unless Hayate uses him as a disguise in public


Mai will definitely not return unless SNK gives them the rights to which is very unlikely. Naotora appears to be popular in Japan so she will likely reappear as a DLC character somewhere down the line since she's in the same company of KT


Her fate is uncertain and she's likely dead but to pump out more DLC profit and to keep her fans happy she'll be added in without plot relevance and will get DLC like the other girls. Basically like the Alpha 152 explanation but since Lisa is a DOA girl with fans and still some profitability, she'll be in.

Basically they won't get rid of staples, especially if MASTER will have anything to say about it. The only characters I can see getting the boot and not returning is Mai, Alpha 152 and the Virtua Fighters.

Alpha 152 will likely be playable but no role in the story due to being dead. Genra will likely be replaced with a new character (likely female). Nyotengu will play a minor role in the story to explain her replacing Tengu.

Momiji and Rachel will each have a chapter in the story mode with Momiji likely helping in the main conflict.

Phase 4 is definitely going to be a lead character and I hope she doesn't get killed by the other ninjas for being a clone.

Jann will act as the main rival to Rig (whose real name will be revealed). I personally hope he dies.

Bass, due to being Rig's friend, will probably play a bigger role but likely will just be around to watch over Tina.

Lisa survived being crushed but will either have amnesia or is brainwashed by the bad guys.

Marie will be a side character an her relationship with Honoka will be explained (Honoka is probably her clone).

That's exactly what I wwas thinking. They could even go full Ein with her by giving her a new name and fighting style in the story and have her standard movelist as another character not playable in the story.
