IGN Pro League DOA5 Pro Gaming Tournament

Well The concept of spacing wasn't necessarily targeted towards just Hitomi, spacing holds the same fundamental base across the cast and games. However it's just a matter of their options. What I was more of singling out was step options. Now these step options I was testing with Kokoro, Kasumi, and Hayate as well and the opportunities for step punishes and such did apply equally for the most part. The big reason for singling out though was mainly because I just haven't tested these same situations with the rest of the cast. I understand what you are saying though although hitomi whiff punishment is actually really strong still however she is limited by her concept as she always has been of straight mids and anyone with a mid parry has a advantage if not minor advantage immediately.

Nope, same old 236p and 46p all day as far as whiff punishing goes for the most part. 2p+k makes a nice addition with the hitbox change, crushes a lot of highs, gives stun and moves forward a decent distance.

Her step options are interesting though in that step+p stuns but does not track and step+k is slower and tracks, step+k on counter hit allows you to link a 66kkp into juggle, tight link, really rewarding. But both have their uses as step+k is high and step+p isn't and step+p is faster. Her wall juggle game has gotten better as well with the addition of p+k.

She has lost juggle ability from 6kkk strings as well as from 3k+g(now 0 on block to note,-4 after returning stand and you get otg chop) and 66k+g is unsafe now majorly, -11, I believe not entirely sure i remember correctly but its unsafe now just note.

Post advanced hold on mid k's(hold old mid k hold from doa4) juggles still apply.

I wasn't able to get post critical 6+throw followup (66p,pp4ppp iirc)

Environment clashes best options i found when they land miscreen are (if corner is close) 66kkk or 46p (if corner isn't close) 66kkp for wakeup game.

as far as tracking k+g really has a use now as it is one of her of attacks that track. Her moveset is looking to be weak in tracking.

Sounds nice. I don't know if those will be enough for her to compete with maybe the new characters or new mechanics. But I still plan to main her. I love her 66kkk on most juggles. And yeah the no more juggle on 6kkk is saddening. I used it a decent amount.

Interesting was the 46p Hitomi can do after the car danger zone(the one where the metal beam falls on it) As far as I can tell, her 46p is guaranteed after every danger zone juggle. At least the ones shown. From what I saw, her 66kkk seems to be able to be done at smaller bounces like a lot of the old moves since the second kick juggles a little.

Her 3k+g being unsafe is saddening as well. But the improvements looked solid at least. Can't wait to main her and Kasumi. Thanks for the more in depth stuff. I can only watch the streams and speculate, and that only goes so far until I can get the game in September.

EDIT: forgot to mention, liking the sound of her 2p+k. That was my bread and butter for better mix-ups.

If you don't have anything constructive to say then don't post anything.
Even if it was constructive, it wouldn't make a difference anyway. I still don't see any single one of you answering my rather constructive questions in the E3 build about Christie in another thread while everyone else's questions are getting answered. If that's not insulting, I don't know what is.

Awesmic, the only regulars here that actually had any hands-on with the E3 builds were Rikuto and DrDogg and they're both at the MLG event that's taking place this weekend. I'm trying to help and fill in with some answers to questions that I do know due in part to listening to the E3 stream but the people that would know the answer are MIA so please be patient. If you'd like a more immediate response, I'd suggest asking DrDogg on Twitter as I'm sure he probably has more immediate access to that but do understand that he's taking part in another event this weekend and is busy with that.

off topic but did anyone see Rikuto play kayane in SCV lastnight on the mlg stream lol

Agreed Grap3, no one is ignoring you Awesmic, you our Ninja.

And um interesting, how did that match go between the two of them?

Also, would have been cool if DOA5 was demoed at MLG.

Keyley, I think you are referring to me when you said someone told you you could step in the middle of a few of hayabusa strings as I told a few people that. I am not sure exactly who you are(I think I do) but none the less it was fun meeting you.

Yea, it's me. I'm glad to see you on the forums.

Also, Rikuto hasn't been practicing SCV like at all. This tournament was like a freebie and he advanced really far for the time he had in the game. Kayane took second and Tokido is, according to Rikuto, even better than she is, placement be damned. Tough break to fight two Violas.

Rikuto is actually pretty damn good at SC. He just stopped playing it seriously a while back and while he's still better than most, the people that beat him were putting in serious time post-patch when Viola got way better.
