Just to correct u Tina is a cannon blonde, now that aside
Enough with these characters from other games that just by adding them it makes them like reject addons from their own franchises. Stop using Dead or Alive as an advertising machine and not a fighting game. It really just devaluates the product and interest in it and makes it look like scrambling failure leftovers. Just add Tengu and be done with it.

I don't think that this is the philosophy behind their additions: the fans of Team Ninja seems to be really fond of both the franchises and this is the main reason because they would like a mix between the two series. The current Team Ninja seems fond of the idea so what appear to me something long desired (I don't talk of Irene, but of an interaction between NG and DoA), now was finally able to find a fertile terrain.
If Team Ninja can make happy the fans adding a new fighting style addressed to an old known character rather than an original one, why to not make it? Of course this is valid also in the opposite case (allowing to Hayate to be playable in NG).
In addition, while Momiji, Kasumi and Ayane could be used for promoting the respective original series (just because fans favourites), I don't think that Rachel or Irene's inferior popularity could have a such purposes, overall in the case of Irene that is never been a playable character and got only a special treatment in DoA
and NG3:REFinally, if something I think that Irene has really low chances (not the absolute certainty) to become a playable character in NG: so, if there is really a fanbase for her, the only way to satisfy them could be the one to include the girl like part of the DoA roster.
Said this, all the characters that TN could decide to add in DoA5U are far for getting the priority by me compared to Tengu, a character really needed in my opinion.

Wow more new characters confirmed!!!! Guessing by the select screen I think we'll get two more characters which I think will be Tengu and either a brand new female or Irene Lew

Could you translate to us exactly what this fan said? If it's something like "I think that Tengu will be one of them.." then... maybe...
"Ya know, with this new passion (for adding more characters), Tengu would be a good fit..."
Next week, arcade gets Phase-4, home version gets Marie. That's what they meant. There are more characters to come after the two that are coming next week.
It's not quite "guest" characters, though. NG and DOA are the same universe. Same thing with Final Fight and Street Fighter. Ryu is not a "guest" character, is he?
And like was said, Irene isn't gonna be punching greater fiends in the face any time soon. So, if fans want her to be playable, DOA would be the venue. As for the blonde thing, the can darken it slightly, maybe. I dunno.

Something new and creative that will be synonymous with Dead or Alive noting Ninja Gaiden!
The ninja gaiden franchise was destroyed from interference both inside(poor developer choices) and outside ("fans" and "journalists" with telling how hard the game should be.
Ninja Gaiden 1=great masterpiece that will forever go down in legend
Ninja Gaiden 2= mediocre just barely redeemable to the first remake
Ninja Gaiden 3= Oy matey stop killing me matey
Yaiba= Well i havent finished it but i guess it takes a suck
And now i dont want that trash in DOA. It's hard going up from a downward spiral.

By the way I'm always been a fan wishing for the inclusion of Irene (look the date of this tweet https://twitter.com/Kronin1/status/338337773687824384), just like for the inclusion of all the characters left out from DoA Dimensions, of course hoping for a treatment able to make evolve them from simple clones (with the exception of Raidou and Tengu, owning a moveset already perfect).
In general I'm fond of all the characters from DoA and NG, it's this the reason because I would like for their return, of course united to the possibility to represent a real addition also for the gameplay matter, so not including simple clones of character changing just few moves for the sake to get all of them (indeed in the last times before the release of DoA5U, I started to ask of Kasumi Alpha not like a real character but only as a selectable alter ego of Kasumi - just like Lisa and la Mariposa).
But like I said more times, what I really wish for DoA5U is Tengu, then also having my own preferences I would be glad with any kind of characters added. I stated more times that I would like to see no more guests, but I see many people asking for them and I don't say nothing against them, accepting without problems the additional presence of another guest (or the missing of Irene as well) if TN will decide so in the end.
My opinion in this matter is:
- Tengu is a priority for the game
- If TN will include other characters, the ones in my top list - considering only the ones with real chances for being in the game - would be Irene/Raidou/Yaiba/New original male character
- By the way I will be glad with any kind of characters if TN will add at least Tengu
Don't worry, it's fine that you have your own opinion. Like I said I respect it and the argument of discussion wasn't that you have necessarily to like her because I think that "she is cool!"
I don't think so, very likely was a typo of TN: next week the Japanese people will get Phase-4.

Like I said more times, when something will not happen the most simple to thing to do is to ignore any comments/requests about it. If Team Ninja explicitely answered to a similar comment, then this could really end to be the first unofficial confirmation of the return of Tengu in the game, maybe the next character to be announced!

Sorry but, putting aside that the real main developers of Yaiba were Spark Unlimited and not Team Ninja, I don't understand how your reasoning make sense.
When people say that NG2 and 3 are inferior to NG:Black (by the way I think that NG 2 and RE are anyway great games), you can be sure that they are talking of everything less the characters involved. Honestly how the presence of Rachel and Momiji in DoA5U has something to do with how much NG2 is good or bad? How could be able to influence the reception of DoA5U?

I am pretty sure they are reviving him, this is scary!!
But I want crow mask option too You know they are creating him from scratch so why not completely redesign him? A complete crow Tengu! DOA Tengu looks totally human except for the wings. I admit this is bad idea human looking Tengu cooler but possibly we can see variations he needs different swaps.

Actually it's way worse, those characters are not even in the starting original of those games and are just used as a shilling for already done a poor job, of course the i'm not saying these are all pre determined marketing strategies for maximizing sales of dear fans because let's face it, Making a good epic game is hard these days and the competition is just too... well it's just that there's too many.
And no the presence is not the point in question, they are just a cheap shill to be used for promotion. Now Marie Rose now that is something special.

I want animal character seriously. Helena is rich she can create animal soldiers for herself or anything like that they made weird story connections they can connect an animal fighter to the story I contradict myself though because someone who knows how to fight should join the roster lol.

Wait what? I could only think of 2-3 people here that will legitimately main Tengu (I'm not counting the supporters here who want him in the game for the sake of another character addition, but have no desire to even touch him) and TN didn't even knew that people even cared for the character prior of vanilla DoA 5 due to the more popular character requests at the time tuning out any Tengu appeal.
As far as former boss characters go, Tengu has the best chance due to most prior exposure in previous games, but that is not saying much when his only notable competition is Raidou and Genra. His recent increased spike of addition requests was a by-product result of the other higher demanded characters (Momiji, Leon, Ein, Rachel) finally being added into the game in DoA5U. Less competition gives Tengu a better chance now since more people are likely to rally behind him. Assuming TN doesn't add more popular requested VF guests, NG Immigrants, or simply a new character all together.
So to say to any Genra fans "Nobody would play him/rarely requested" while promoting a slightly less niche character like Tengu is nothing short of being conceited. I realistically know Tengu has the better shot compared to Genra, but that doesn't mean I will dismiss any Genra fan requests casually. Hell I personally prefer playing Genra over Tengu, but that doesn't I'm gonna tell a Tengu fan to essentially screw off because I want Genra more.
