Ruining DOA image? How, the game already has bouncy boobs, tons of swimsuits, photo modes, gravature videos, and more. The only thing DOAX would add that DOA doesn't is Volleyball and other mini games
And like I said before, I don't understand why people are so against a game they aren't forced to play. That's like me saying I don't want Ninja Gaiden. If you don't like it, don't play or be bothered withit. But don't try to ruin something others like because that is cynical.

You are confusing the subject: a such statement was said by Hayashi (if I'm not wrong) answering to @EMPEROR_COW during a meeting in Japan (pre-release period of DoA5). Emperor asked him if there were some possibilities to add Tengu in the roster and Hayashi was surprised of a such requests, asking to Emperor if there was really someone that used the character.

While I agree I wished TN never removed those two, in all honesty they aren't characters that simply have to be in the game. Both aren't relevant to DOA anymore since Ein returned as Hayate and Tengu was killed by Hayabusa.

But when you talk about a fighting game, the gameplay variety/originality should be the first element to consider for the presence or less of a character, not his plot relevance... While I agree that Ein is a karateka like Hitomi (he play completely differently, but it's surely true that Ein share a big part of Hitomi's moveset even if with different properties), Tengu's gameplay has definitely no equal in the roster.

It takes away time and money that could be used making the next DOA as best as it possibly could be. A whole DOAX game would be a big risk for flopping in sales, what they have as DLC in 5 is not. The gravure videos in 5U are recycled from 5+ and are just short animations. There are what, like 5 original swimsuits out of all 1,483 in the game? They both don't have to come up with new designs for them but also I imagine this
Is a helluva lot easier to make in a 3d program than this

But what about the people who do want DOAX3? We just got DOA5 & DOA5U so it's to early for DOA6.
And would it be a big risk? Yeah, but that doesn't mean they should'nt take it. Yeah DOAX2/DOAP flopped but DOAXBV didn't, and if they learn from the mistakes they made before, focus on making it better, and do what they have recently start doing which is listening to the fans then the game could do great.

This could work for keeping his gameplay and plot relevance, but the fans wouldn't be ever completely satisfied.
In the end Team Ninja could decide to add the gameplay of Ein to Hitomi's father for putting in the roster a character still relevant for the plot, but people weren't only asking for Ein's moveset, but also for a character with his same personality and physical traits.

By the way after years of a plot without a single thread, TN finally seem to have found a general setting to keep for the plotline (the machinations of MIST about experiments for a warrior based on Kasumi's DNA), so I find hard the introduction of a similar character (sadly...
)
And risk sales flopping and possibly them not having enough of a budget to make anymore DOA games?

DOA5 didn't have several characters due to time constraints. Do we want that to happen to DOA6? It takes a long-ass time to make a game.
Even if they made DOAX3 spectacular, I don't see it doing well. It's a niche title that's heavily stigmatized, more than DOA the fighting game is. I guess maybe more people would buy it if they added the guys but they probably wouldn't due to time constraints and the guys not having what their target demographic loves so much, tig ol' bitties.

I wouldn't say I don't mind it, but they should have just released it as DLC/mode to the main game if they were going to make a DOAX3.
