Did you manage to get the new fishing rod? Is it better than Serenity?

I found the update to be more fun after getting really high. Haven't found all of the chocobos (surprised I actually haven't found more) 2 more moogles and that damn fishing rod and I got it all.

Due to me platinum the game, I only bothered to fish like about 10 times. I bought the new one plus the reel and it seems "slightly" better, not a big difference on much but could be useful if you are still aiming for the trophy.

I've got the trophy, I'm aiming for the harder fish in the game. The true last boss of FFXV: The Pink Jade Gar. Big time bitch fish.

Is Carbuncle actually an imaginative friend of Noctis since his father gifted him that little Carbuncle figure when he was sick? He only ever appears in Noctis' dreams, tutorials, in easy mode to revive you and like Gentiana secretly in some of Prompto's snaps. At no point does anyone else ever acknowledge he's actually there.

I've been wondering about that. Let me know if anyone gets the answer on this one, even I couldn't figure it out.

In the meanwhile, I've been on Tales of Berseria so I probably won't hop on FFXV until the next DLC kicks in or episodes.

Tabata said this about story updates

“The fans who have grown accustomed to playing traditional Final Fantasy games may feel uneasy about this unfamiliar initiative. That said, I personally believe the approach to updating single-player games, as we are doing with this title, will continue on in the future as a new trend.”

And...lol. Whether he's implying they're going to be trendsetters and no one has ever updated a single player game before ffxv or that major fuckups (time constraints/bad decisions/etc) that require patching to make a game enjoyable will continue to happen with most game releases in the future, either way it's hilarious. Got the quote from here

Idk how the hell to fix this link so it's just the site, hopefully it redirects for you guys on androids/pc's

Heh, one of the reasons why putting faith in such a man is more of an exploit than a guaranteed given good game. They need to go back to the roots before 12 or at least emphasize 12 if they still cater to that route.

Lol, Gamefaqs is really the bottom of the barrel of all gaming forums. XD

As much as I agree with this, there are times where you do have users there with sane posts with intelligent responses. They are simply in the wrong forum.

DOA Gamefaqs is a mess, that much is a fact.

Has everyone tried out the festival by now? I don't think I gave my opinions since I kind of had a headache after it. ( The game didn't give me one I just happened to get one! )

First of all, Altissa is so much better to explore now that you can warp point around the city! That made it feel much more open, Not to mention it felt like it had more people and more going on. The city looked great as well with the decorations. It didn't take me very long to do everything I wanted to in it but It was still very enjoyable. Also on the map you can see more of the area outside Altissa I'm sure which was cool. Personally I liked the new photo mode.

I haven't played the game since NEC. With RE7 and Tales of Berseria out now (and the fact that I haven't bought the Season Pass) I don't see myself playing it for a while. Looks great and the future content sounds like fin but there are too many games I plan on playing coming out in the next couple months.

Altissia looks really bad and plain to me now without the decorations xD
When I think about it, it would have been so much better if the festival was part of the actual game, I mean when you reach the city there's the festival, then days pass (the festival ends) and stuff happens normally. It would have made the city A LOT better, with lots of stuff to do, etc...
Not to mention that they'll remove the festival, I hate it. Is it really worth putting effort and money for something time-limited and on a single player game?

Also, I got the festival fishing rod and it sucks, so I think I got everything from it, I'm out now.

I finally got it, I'm experimenting with it, because I had better luck with it catching a grouper than Serenity despite the attack being so low. Also got a random bait -- says it only works for one fish, but ends up working for more.

Enjoyed fishing here, because I got tired of the backseat fishing. It's also nice to be separated from the boys for a change in a peaceful scenario. This carnival is definitely a Dream of Noct... but if it is how does he bring things back from the dream world into the real world? He's got special powers we don't know about yet.

Also, Noct steals abilities in this DLC: He comes up with a new recipe when you obtain the food SE Cafe and even steals Ignis' line and of course he also looks into Prompto's hobby.

I have a week break between my current employer closing and my new job starting. I may actually get back to this game. Having time off of work and not being in recovery from a surgery might just lead to some gaming for me. Maybe.

The snow this year has enabled me to play it more.
