Just some food for thought about Akira... His :2: :P: on a juggled opponent makes them rise instead of fall. I was able to land 12 :2: :P: 's in a corner followed by an ender

- :6::K: should connect fine. You'll just sacrifice some of the string as the launch isn't as high.
- :3::3::P: is slower, so it may be slow escaped on many occasions.
I will post up many combos with various launchers for everyone to enjoy. And I will add damage figures when I get the game. (confirmed for tomorrow...hopefully!)

12 times eh? On a juggled opponent? Lol that doesn't seem right.

I meant :3::3::P: as the main launcher

Oh ok. Yeah, it's launch height is still not the greatest, but I know what you mean :) Yeah, I'll definitely add those. I'm also looking forward to some combos from all you guys.
i think it combos well be the nastier in term of damage cause youhou it self have high damage for a launcher
and test Teirou Kanpo combo too .
man i am really hyped for this game by the way how is Hayate in this game

after messing around in training mode, i found they only do 2 damage each hit. So as far as damage goes, (f)+k is the better option
Akira wall game is really scary most of the moves in his arsenal splat people flat against them and from the look of GORO'S combos it seems his don't need to play the stun game to deal massive damage

Personally, I like Hayate in this game, but I never got deep with his gameplay. He's quick and has some good moves and combos. The people in the Hayate threads should give you a better answer, but last I checked, they weren't really happy with him.

With the changed properties and inputs of his moves it's hard to come up with combos without playing as him but here's two that should be guaranteed.

:6::P+K:, :4::6::P:
Getting this follow-up is spotty at best. One of Akira's scariest tools is now very wishy-washy on when it wants to connect. =(

He is compensated with other various scary tools. I'm going to post up various tools, best moves/follow ups, and other strategy related stuff in "the Akira thread". Let us know if you find anything worth noting as well so I can include it to the first post of the relevant Akira thread.

Having a lot of difficulty with Akira's :3::4::6::P: in this game for whatever reason. I'm doing the motion but I can only seem to buffer it off of a low hit, doing it stand alone it refuses to come out unless I stay in the crouching position for a second and I can't for the life of me do it off of a :P:, :4::6::P: or :6::K::P:.

It's been a long time but I don't remember it being this difficult in VF5. Maybe it's the 360 pad... any suggestions out of blood, sweat and tears?

i don't have the game yet but you can try to buffer it from crouch dash :3::3::4::6::P: or this i use in VF may be it work here too:214::214::4::6::P: it look complicated but it really very easy and fast

Doa's move inputs is more lenient than vf so for that 346p you can do 32146p. It's a whole lot easier because of the sliding motion

To perform the move from another move, perform 6632146p. The dash 66 starts after the move so u can get the crouch move off. Same is applied for using busa's handstand kick and juggles or Eliot's crouching 3p

You can do it with :1::4::6::P: and it'll work. You don't have to hold down anymore or :3: to use it.

@Zeo, I'm with Rubedood here. Trying different inputs is nice and all, but you're delaying the execution. I say, keep practicing the right motion and see where you're going wrong in the display. If you can only get it after the low hit buffer, then use that for the time being. Eventually it will feel like nothing. (I started the same way with that move first when I began playing Akira).

In other news, most of the combos we discussed here work. I have a bit of work to do until Friday, then I'll get enough time to sit and rinse Akira as much as I want. I'll update the first page with relevant combos from various setups and for various levels of play.

NightAntilli's suggestion worked perfectly. I can do it about 75-80% of the time off of just about anything. So I'll be relying on it in real matches for the time being. I will work on just doing the natural motion in training though, It seems like it would be so easy of a motion but oddly enough some specific motions as simple as they look are just really hard to do here for whatever reason. (Like Eliot's :4::6::P:, it's a LOT harder than it looks.)

Thank you for the kind words. Don't know if I can fully represent what Akira can do just yet. I am working on getting better with him though.
Yeah, I'm on the 360. Please feel free to add me anytime.
I do plan on doing some videos too with full frame data (for both Akira and opponent) and damage. My online is pretty slow at the moment, but I'm working on a faster connection. But it would be nice to record some matches to discuss strategy and reaction as well. Since Akira is execution heavy, a lot of players focus on trying to get that setup and lose focus on what the opponent is doing. (I've been guilty of this before too).
