Haha, this Hayate has his good days and bad days. Today just happened to be a good one. Still didn't win even half of the matches but I'm content.
The trick is behind my Hayate is that rather than going with the regular motions that have been set for him, I try to stay inspired. I don't do what everyone else does if I can help it. No one uses 214p as a get in move. 236k, yes, but still not nearly enough and when I use it, I'm going for the damage not the guard break itself. PPP to extend the stun? Feels like Ein, so I'm gunna do it. I just do things that I like instead of what's the "best damage" or whatever.
If you're not inspired then you're not going to take him to the next level and even then it'll be tough... but at least you'll have a good time.
It's the same thing in my opinion for Hoodless, that Zack is inspired and then there's the fundamentals of the player behind the character. The guy is good.
