That's how I hold it, and I feel like 421 is literally the easiest special command to do. 623 is kinda iffy...

You absolutely can't just jump into ranked on XBL. I'm a noob at this game, but competent at VF. It took me 20 matches to get a single win. Most of them weren't even close.
