Low holds should not beat standing throws.

Of course it matters. The DOA game has traditionally been about risk vs reward, where the longer you play the stun guessing game, the bigger your free damage reward when finally getting the launcher. Or in DOA 5's case, a possible critical burst stun into enormous free damage. You can always...

Low holds should not beat standing throws.

What exactly is the damage "you deserve" off of a single stun? 20? 60? 100? What amount of damage are you willing to declare as free damage because your opponent "messed up" once?

    Brad notepad

Does Brad have any reliable move to flip over a downed opponent as they start a wakeup kick, causing the opponent to wakeup kick in the wrong direction? I've done this once with 9P but only once - every other time just causes the opponent to track Brad and spin around just before the wakeup kick...

Low holds should not beat standing throws.

In previous DOA games, I think this thread has a very valid point because low holds did recover far too quickly. Now in DOA 5 they recover in about the same time as a standing hold (don't know the exact frame comparison), but I no longer have the issues I used to have in DOA2U or DOA 4 online...

    PS3 vs 360 comparison

I'm having a hard time understanding how you can measure universal input delay with a frame count of 3. What if I'm running a game at 120fps, or 30fps, or 15 fps? The idea that there is some kind of universal rule that the frame count for lag is always a minimum of 3 doesn't add up to me, as it...

Need help unlocking pre-order bikini code on XBOX 360

Well that may have been what you're supposed to do from the start, but as I did it from my PC on the www.xbox.com web page originally, the code is considered redeemed already. If I try to put the code in through that method now, it says I've already redeemed the code.

Need help unlocking pre-order bikini code on XBOX 360

So I got the bikini code when I first got the game on release day (preorder, not collector code), but haven't really cared enough to put in the code until recently. I never preorder XBOX 360 games normally, so I was a bit of a newb trying to figure out where to put in the code. In the end, I...

    PS3 vs 360 comparison

I'm not sure what you're talking about here. Are you referring to LCD TVs? Plasma? OLED? What about a CRT that displays images at the speed of light with a true 0ms response time? Are we factoring any kind of image processing on the newer TVs, or is this an unprocessed image like an old TV or...

Petition to bring back LEON as DLC!

Leon was my main in DOA4, so I wouldn't mind seeing him back. One of the reasons you didn't see Leon often was the same reason you didn't often see Bayman or Bass or Brad in DOA4 - they were lower tier characters. I've seen a lot more Bayman, Bass, and Brad in DOA 5 online than I ever did in...

"Same region" does not include Canada/US online

Some of you may have already figured this out, but if someone from the US chooses "same" as their region, they won't be able to see Canadian games, and vice versa for Canadian players. Anyone playing in US or Canada may want to always choose "nearby" as their region to find more games. I know...

    High risk/reward character recommendation

I'd say Bayman is the highest risk/reward character you can run with, with his high damage unique holds and offensive holds that need extremely good reflexes and foresight on the player's part. Bass probably comes just a bit behind him. For those people who mentioned Hayabusa as high-risk...

Do you Think throw ranges need to be increased?

This complaint sounds like a lack of understanding of how throws work, and the whiffed throws are being misinterpreted as needing more range. What's probably happening is: a) You're trying to grab an opponent who is considered crouched and not standing. This could be because the opponent...

Online multiplayer is a complete disappointment

For every single person using wireless = WIRELESS WILL GIVE YOU A BAD CONNECTION This is not a suggestion, a feeling, or some superstition. It doesn't matter that wireless has worked for you in other games. Do not use wireless in a fighting game. Even if you thought your experience was good...
