    Meter: Yay or nay?

I'm OK with the meter, all things considered. Coming in I was really worried it would break the game, though I've found that in the matches I've played it doesn't actually come up that often. I will have to clock more some time before giving a final judgement but for now at least it adds more...

Which character from DOA5 do you miss the most?

Definitely my former main Ein here. Losing him has caused me to put more work in my #2/#3 mains which has been rewarding for DOA 6, and I'm exploring other cast members to find a new #3, but I'd still happily put down the DLC fee to have him back. Also, super-mild-barely-matters story mode...

Hayate Teleport vs Wake up Kicks

Impressive combo! I never considered using the teleport as an anti-WUK tactic. I just tried it out in training mode, it does take some solid timing: if I teleport before the training dummy starts the WUK then the dummy will turn and hit me when I get to the other side. I'm also going to have...

    DOA5LR Updated Ein tech.

I was excited to see that as I like the idea of having more wakeup kick punishers (right now I use 236P from mid range to beat both, and if I'm up close and I think my opponent is using a low wake up kick I use 214K). I've been trying to pull the 9Ks off in training mode though, and I can't...

Haha I had no idea you were so cruel! I thought "oh Eilliot Choryo Challenge that sounds fun"...went to try it...and 10 minutes later I was ready to throw my controller at the wall. I went to the Elliott thread and see that this is a rough challenge for many people, but I do see how getting it...

DOA5LR No people on PC... Really sad

Just wanted to hop in here again and say Steam/PC has been lively today--I've been on and off all day and found a good variety of skilled opponents. Saturday noon to roughly midnight (in EST/eastern time zone) is usually good for finding games, and Sunday is often only a little slower...

Yeah I originally went mostly defense with Hayate (I have an Ein background so used to playing spacing) and he can definitely do it, though I've found that he's pretty good on the offense as long as the opponent doesn't figure out your strings as they're easy to hold. He won't out-rush Christie...

Congrats! I'm envious, I tried and failed at that more times than I care to count. Hayate's definitely grown on me, though I'm still figuring out the right balance of aggression vs defense with him. He's been my most consistent character of late, and that's without fully knowing his juggles...

    Ein video and critique thread

Thank you for the detailed strategy and kind words! Good to hear I'm on the right track with Ein. Both JayceeChris and you emphasized those 3K's and I'm realizing I'm barely using them, I'll make them a part of my repertoire. I'll remember to use them with at Range 2/outside jab range. I...

    Ein video and critique thread

That's great, thank you! I will practice interrupting the Christie strings you describe in the lab until I get the timing down. This opponent likes his 214P, and I've definitely seen him trap me with it after a safe attack as you describe so I'll also practice backdash-and-punish timing for it...

    Ein video and critique thread

I'm having a difficult time with the Ein Vs Christie match-up. I've had a ton of such games against one player who beats me roughly 3 to 1, and I'd really appreciate some insight from other players on what else I should be trying against him. Against lesser Christies I can turtle my way to...

This move drove me absolutely insane--I was stuck in Hayate's training mode for weeks because I couldn't input it, and as I use training mode to get all the character strings on auto pilot this was hurting my Hayate game. I kept trying for 5 to 10 minutes every time I played DOA and I couldn't...

DOA5LR No people on PC... Really sad

PC online is not dead, though it's hardly great I can usually get a game when I want to. There are way more people on the weekends--if I load it up on a lazy Saturday or Sunday I can consistently get a variety of opponents. On weeknights it's more touch-and-go, there are times it's like what...
