Also, how would a fix camera work, when RE2 remark is super dark at times, you NEED over the shoulder camera , because you have a flashlight to search the surroundings.
Not sure about that argument, from what i see items are automatically highlighted when close enough easy-peasy style.Flashlight is used here for the atmosphere mainly.
Game is going to be dope as shit. Been wanting this since RE4 and that douche troll move they threw into the intro where they almost had you thinking it was going to be a Zombie game..... But then Las Plagas. Still a 10/10 game though. Unfortunate that it's successors have all been terrible except 7 and now the 2 remake.
I'm also excited but i'm expecting a dick move from capcom, sooner or later.I reserve my definitive judgement once i've beaten the game. But my inner Zombie fanboy screams "shut up and take my money"
I'm glad its 3rd person with 7s controls, don't get me wrong classic RE is still good but tank controls and fixed camera is janky as hell and real awkward to play these days.
plus with the Zombies being inescapable without a knife and pretty much being invincible tank controls would be terrible.
You have to board windows up and find ways of controlling where they can or can't go. See Zombies beating on the windows? Old games would have you think you need to keep moving, and on your way back you can just juke them to avoid wasting ammo. In this one if you leave that same hallway unattended for too long, you're coming back to a hallway filled with them shoulder to shoulder shambling about.
Not to mention being full 3D with a 3rd person camera means we can actually fully explore the locations and with the redesigned areas I feel that's gonna be needed more than anything.
@Fanteller if you're expecting Leon to start suplexing Zombies or Claire blowing shit up don't worry because the remake actually tones down the action. RE2 was actually designed to be more action packed(hell it was directed by Kamiya!!) RE2make is full horror mode and 4th Survivor and Tofu are confirmed on the disc. only dlc is Samurai Edge and costumes so far. Deluxe Edition even has the OG OST.
HUD and stuff I'm fairly sure you can turn off and for the purists I'm 99% sure there'll be a difficulty mode where checkpoints are turned off and you'll need to pick up ink ribbons to save. RE7 was exactly the same.
the button icons are IMO a good thing, it let's you know what's intractable and what isn't saves you mashing x near everything lol
My only real concern is the removal of A and B scenarios
They didn't take a linear direction with 7 and that was an even smaller area than what they have to work with on RE2. 7 never felt like a hallway simulator even though you spent 90% of the game in hallways.
I agree they should completely drop the HUD and make it entirely cinematic. I bet there will be an option to disable the HUD though, which will be the route I take hahaha
I hope you're right about the hud and Hard mode.Items where shining in elder RE or obvious to pick up.Shining while highlighted would work with the flashlight.I hate floating X O or whatever.
Considering how cinematic it is, i'm sure they could come up with clever solutions. Hell i play souls-like without hud !
You see, REmake was made when RE Zero was being made so technically it was true back then too. They left tank controls and fixed camera because they were still making games like that. It wasn't until RE4 in 2005 3rd person camera was a thing, REmake was in 2002.
fixed camera is good and all, but outdated in my opinion.
