What do you mean drop combos? A lot of Ayane's force techs don't seem to sacrifice too much damage. I am just asking because I am still trying to learn the game, and am working on the force tech game more right now
Well what I'm saying is, most Ayane players I nowadays, will purposely let their opponent drop out of their combo in order to use some sort of pseudo force tech to keep constant pressure. While that's good and all, it's still pseudo.. If it were for actual force tech, I'd understand. But if you finish the combo, you get more damage and the same situation for mix up afterwards.
Oh ok, thanks. I misread your post and didn't catch the pseudo part. I have seen people start a juggle like BTPP4PP, but drop it before the last P and try to force tech the opponent with a BT2K. If this is what you mean, I will be sure to stay away from that
Well BT 2K is an actual force tech. I get that. But if you try teching them up with 1P or something stupid like that, you just gave up damage to do something that your opponent might not even tech for. And if you mess that up, your opponent could make a come back just like that.
Pseudo force techs don't do Anything to benefit Ayane, at all. I honestly hate seeing people do that online because they are trying to incorporate a strength that Helena has and it doesn't work the same way for Ayane.
Ayane is fully capable of achieving force techs at every launch, that are not pseudo, they are true force techs. Xdest and I discovered this months ago and posted about it but apparently it is ignored by the majority of who try to play this character differently. And you cannot do that with Ayane.
Her force tech always leads to 50+ damage on very good advantage with scary oki that is almost impossible to escape (almost) because it covers every area it needs to cover (50/50s, tracking, and a loop).
Also, I know you're already aware of this fact, Galen. But a lot of Ayane players online don't really "follow the rules" to playing this character. There are some characters in this game that actually can be played differently than they are designed to be. But Ayane is designed to be played in a specifc manner.
