That's PC yeah? My PC can barely run Mindsweeper HD :( I'd need a decent rig to play Morrowind i think.

PC and original Xbox, though I'd definitely recommend the PC version. Unfortuntely, I can't run it either, but I've lost countless hours of my life to the Xbox version.

Yeah, Morrowind shits all over Skyrim. The glory days of that franchise are long gone. Happy eleventh anniversary, Morrowind! You're still the best.

What about The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion? How does that one compare?

The worst one in the series, in my opinion. Most hardcore TES players were very unhappy with it, though casuals ate it up. It was heavily noobified, the art style was too generic, the creatures were uninspired, the story sucked, the level scaling was retarded, too many skills were needlessly removed, the world had no depth. The list goes on and on.

Skyrim, for the most part, continued down that dirty road, but I like it a tad bit better than Oblivion solely due to it looking a little more like TES game should as far as the environment and creatures go. It's amusing, but not worthy of having "The Elder Scrolls" in it's title.

If you've never played Morrowind though, you'll likely enjoy both Oblivion and Skyrim quite a bit.

Cheers for the info man. The games are quite glitchy too aren't they? So far I've encountered two people conversing from miles away, one of them was even underwater & I've also seen a nord sitting on a bench...in the sky. I was like WTF haha

Yes, they tend to be littered with glitches at launch, that are progressively patched out. There's so much to test in games of that scale that it's only natural that things will be missed in testing.

Skyrim has gotten a lot of support though, having a total of nine patches so far. Morrowind and Oblivion each received three patches, I believe.

There still tend to be issues that never get fixed though.

Yeah for a game with such mammoth scale, little glitches like the ones i mentioned barely dent the experience. Skyrim is truly something special & I've only played about 4 hours of it so far. The scenery is just amazing. I never played the old Morrowind games though so this sort of medieval themed open world is quite new to me. Thanks again for your comments man!

The glitches vary from very small to game breaking. There's a quest in Skyrim called "Blood on the Ice" that was broken beyond belief at launch. At just about every new segment of the quest, the smallest thing could cause it fuck up in so many different ways. It was eventually fixed, though it took several patches to finally get everything addressed.

There was also a game breaking glitch in Oblivion added by the Shivering Isles expansion which would cause the game's reference IDs to reset after logging 70 hours with a character if the expansion was present. I don't remember the specifics, but I think that all items in the game world would reset back to their originally mapped locations, or something like that.

Thank god they fixed that. Btw just looking at the map of Skyrim, is it actually possible to discover absolutely everything there is to find in Skyrim? Certain NPCs, caves, tombs, items etc? This map is intimidating in scale lol. Surely even completionists would have missed something

Right now i'm just slaying wolves, eating mutton, pick-pocketing cat people & stealing everyones venison while having an amazing time doing it lol! I also read you can break into houses & get married!? O_O What can't you do in this game haha!?

Some things only appear based on certain conditions, such as the outcome of a particular quest, but generally speaking, yes you can find everything.

Please tell me you can't get preggers & pop out little breton babies? Thank god I am on long service leave at the moment. This game has me under it's addictive spell :D

You can't get yourself, or your spouse pregnant, but you can adopt children with the Hearthfire add-on.

Also, you can't hear this amazing piece.

That theme always ensnares me with that sense of nostalgia and awe at the adventures that would await you in that exciting, imaginative new world. I miss those days.

Damn, that theme was absolutely breathtaking. When i hear whimsical enchanting music like that it just gives me goosebumps. I love hearing epic theatrical musical scores like that as you traverse the mountains discovering forgotten lands & mysterious beings. Beautiful!
