SE had constant ups and downs, after a good game they'd release a bad one, and vice versa and had a couple of financial losses here and there, so in a way it doesn't surprise me that they're seeling some western IPs, especially if there don't have current plans to make games for those franchises. Well, Square wouldn't be the first one to start being a bit uninterested in gaming, just look at Konami.
