My older brother actually did voice acting/over for a cartoon show called Big City Greens. I remember him mentioning he had a agency made him do recording demos and then they sent it out to other studios that do cartoons/movies, and if they liked the voice they'd want him to come in and audition for a character they have in mind.

In the past, you needed to do vocal training or something (?) but now there are bio sites & social media (along with Youtube) where you just have to show your voice and then they'd contact you through email or even call you. I'd imagine it's easier to get into it now then back then though i'm just guessing LOL, i'm no VA so I can't confirm that, but my brother did do VA before he got picked up by Marvel's Runaways.

That definitely sounds promising since I have a passion for voice acting and I think I'd be able to offer different types, I'd love for them to hear me first so they can see a potential direction since I did some minor voice work where I needed a flirty deep voice and a more emotionless one xD

@KasumiLover You got this. Fun bit!! some of the people that did FF7 Abridged and DBZ Abridged over at Youtube were actually picked up and hired to do official anime shows.

The person who voiced Cloud in FF7 Abridged plays Midoriya in My Hero Academia. Sometimes you probably don't even need training, you just have to get your voice out there. Happens with music too especially with people who sing.
