Yeah I saw his SS K into combo throw. And I saw 66P no longer causes W!. Which is actually pretty helpful because sometimes I'm not prepared for it or don't think it's gonna hit my opponent. So I'm not upset about that. I knew they weren't gonna mess with his 2P since there isn't much else to do with it.

Turns out it only lost some of the + it had on CH. Which means you probably can't combo it into 66P anymore. Most people like to mash so you'll probably get it anyway but no more CH 2P > 66P > P > 66P+K which sucks but it's still not as bad as losing one of his best approaches.

I really don't care too much about things like that. Makes people bitch less about him and brings more respect to the character. Makes him harder to use.

I've always been one to use... weaker characters for whatever reason. But I'd rather be respected for using a difficult character rather than being respected for using a character without good tools.

It wasn't something that really needed to be nerfed, they just took a good tool away for no real reason. I don't mind nerfing braindead things but not legitimate good tools.

He's still one of the better characters. But it's annoying because it feels like nerfing for the sake of nerfing. Not because the move itself was particularly strong. It was nerfed for VF chars across the board, not just Akira. But it was most prevalent for him.

He was nerfed because he is a VF character, Zeo. Majority rules in the favoring that people don't like VF characters in this game. That majority are the people who think they are too good, gimmicky, has unfair advantages, or just plain don't like them. I do not like it but what is done is done. It was nerfed because TN is submissive and most people bitch about VF characters.

Quicker you learn to ignore the small things, the easier it is. When they nerf an essential tool that he needs, then I'll generally be upset. But because he lost a little advantage and may or may not be able to combo 2p on CH into 66P just doesn't grind my gears.

I think 16F+P is a pretty essential tool especially considering the follow up isn't guaranteed and can be blocked now. That's what really pisses me off. And the problem is was TN's way of handling the VF characters.

Most people that complain about the VF characters also complain about the DOA character's lack of safe moves, advantage, frame traps, etc.

And where did you hear that it can be blocked?

The solution basically isn't to nerf the VF characters (Look at Jacky he's SICK and his just frame 6K cancel is +7 on BLOCK). But to buff the DOA characters up to their level, it's the same as when they nerfed vanilla DOA5 Jann Lee. It wasn't the answer.

The nerf itself doesn't really piss me off but the principle behind the nerf. That's what really irritating.

And yeah, Synce apparently has a Japanese friend that attended the playtest. He confirmed the +7 as well as the 2P and 16F+P nerf, and so far he's been right.

I don't mind the 2P nerf but the 16F+P nerf is ridiculous. See, now, I am upset. Because he needs that. That is very upsetting. His K option out of that grab sucks. Hopefully they give him something else to redeem that nerf.....

I wouldn't have even been phased off the 2P nerf alone. Without 16F+P his throw game is effectively trash. That's the whole reason I said he needed that launch throw from VF5 Version B. The road is legit about to get tougher, and it didn't need to be.

Akira's still got it like I said but... it's going to be harder for him and with how good Jacky's looking and Sarah still is, it pisses me off. Then Ein's not looking great either... God if Hayate gets nerfed too... I'm going to lose it.

Yeah, I'm pretty upset at that.. Other VF characters are fine but he gets shat on. That's great. Welp, hope Mila is looking good. I'll still main him but that's so stupid. Maybe their adding something to take it's place. I doubt it.

Doubtful but he's gotten that little sidestep buff and with the bounds from VF being in this game his BnB game could be stronger. There's still a lot we don't know. He may have lost a great tool but he may have gained something good. We'll have to wait and see.

I don't think this is the update TN said they were going to have for the week anyway. This isn't official it's just some offscreen gameplay.
