Holds are way too useful as they are. There needs to be some sort of compromise. Less holdable stuns and/or active frames being nerfed. It wouldn't make a major difference to newer players, but it would open up more offensive options and encourage smarter defense from higher level players.
Hm... So don't you think being 35 frames absolutely indefense ready to eat hi counter guaranteed damage with 6 frames o faster moves is enough compromise? Some chars can take half life bar from a wiffed hold... :S Actually I defeat every un-smarter holder who fights against me, don't you do?
You can't hold out everything in SC. You have to look at the mechanic itself and go by that. I just think it's jarring to see attacks getting held at their end frames. At that point it goes from an educated guess to a lucky/stupid guess.
When I played SC II there were just 2 comands to repel every attack but unblockables, even throws. As far I know, SC5 just uses a (one frame) command to all attacks... That's why I don't understand when you say "You can't hold out everything in SC".
Now I understad... So I think your issue is more related to stun game than hold itself... Maybe an good solution would be limit number of holds atemps during threshold to just one, so losing hold attemp means to lose the stung game. Or maybe max two holds attemps, but not more. What do you think?
