Don't sidestep at all against Ayane. Also make sure you do not whiff any moves because Ayane has alot of long range moves that can easily punish you. Against her you have to play patient and wait for your oportunity to strike.

Once you get that chance don't give her room to breath. Ayane isn't bad up close, but its not her comfort zone. Her comfort zone is mid range. It is MUCH harder to deal with an Ayane at range than an Ayane in your face.
