The entire "evil plan" just feels like something the Joker would have done. But the idiot died after the second movie and thus we get Bane. Who did an awesome job anyway.

Sorry, you are giving "idiot" to a person for his accidentally death and the impossibility to act in a sequel?

It was just an expression. I don't really think he was an idiot. In fact I loved his acting in TDK but I just can't help but feel the "evil plan" in TDKR was meant for him.
