To this day, I still can't tell the difference between the two. That's why I remain humble or bring myself down a notch, 'cause the last thing I wanna be is a character trait I hate the most: Arrogant.
I got called cocky the other day from a close friend because I said I'm making top 5 at KiT, she was like "You'll be lucky if you get top 20 " You have no idea how much that pissed me off. I'm just getting called cocky left and right just because I know what I can do. The people who call me cocky don't have the greatest confidence in themselves either.
@KingGhidorah, seems my avatars have that affect.
I'm humble, but I do know what I can do, and I set goals for myself to strive for. It's not really arrogance or cockiness, there is a fine line between confidence and cockiness.
Different experiences, different perceptions I guess...Hope I didn't come off as cocky at Fight Club o_o Probably came off as anti-social, didn't talk much.
You weren't anti-social, so much as you came off as a nervous kid the moment you found out the converter wasn't working. I know the feeling too well, because I had that same problem at Final Round the minute I realized I was screwed without a converter for my 360 controller. (NOTE: FR was running on PS3.)
Oh yeah, that dreadful moment. That reminds me I need to buy I converter before KiT. I was pretty nervous, not just the fact that my converter wasn't working, but also that I didn't know anyone there. ;_;
OK, a recap of me in a nutshell. I'm almost always bald, and when I'm not, I'm wearing a hat. I prefer wearing black leather jackets and treasure my "I'm a Fighter" necklace.
Usually when someone is being arrogant it is because they believe they are above other people. Being confident is not the same thing. If I say "I can make top 16" at a tournament thats not being arrogant. Being arrogant / cocky would be wording it like so: "Im not getting anything less than top 16. That would be a failure."
