I'm not a good player so I could be wrong, but seemed to me that Ein was a better character in the previous games of the series. So, knowing that in the end he is not really changed in DoA5U, I don't think that he was him to become worst, but rather the others to become better.

Ive been toughing it out and doing just that. Playing as Ein then going back and using other characters results in easy wins simply due to the fact that playing Ein strengthened me as a player.
