Hachi, not everyone has the courage to fight, let alone finish, a battle against who is superior to them in terms of experience and skill. "Fear" and "Doubt" are ways of acknowledging one's weakness
Van, its only a weakness when you "give up", that shows there was no confidence in winning in the first place. To "surrender" means you acknowledge there is no fighting chance and choose not fight.
True, not everyone has courage, but giving up won't make you stronger, especially when someone has this mentality: "Screw this! This guy's too good. I'm not going to bother playing." I dunno, I just think people should give it their all. Whether it be a video game or sport. If they get bodied by the person like a lot of times, then I can sort of understand why they give up.
Hachi, the person I fought acknowledged the possibility that he couldn't win before fighting me; He "surrendered". He came to terms with the gap in skill between us. To "give up" means to lose confidence midway, there's nothing wrong with that. However, its disrespectful to show "fear" mid-battle
It's a fighting game, though. Surrendering literally serves no purpose whatsoever. Why guarantee your own defeat when you can give em hell and at least have a chance of winning?
First of all, I like fighting against people who are godlike.
secondly, even though I have NO chance of winning, I will still try to see if my style of fighting is good enough.
