Divide everything into categories. Safe, Unsafe, Advantage, Disadvantage.

everything that is -8 or more is unsafe. This means that when you go through somebodies list you dont even need to remember if something is -14 all you need to know is that "its more than -8" which means its punishable.

For safety if its less than -6. its safe. dont need to memorize the number just need to know its less than -6.

Advantage - anything with a + is advantage which means when you block it you need to defend depending on how much it is . It will either be light, moderate, or double digit advantage. to me, light is +1-3, moderate is 4-9 and double digit is self explanatory.

no need to memorize the number just look at the move animation and classify it.

For example despite playing Ein I have no idea what his 6KK is on block. All I know is that it is unsafe.

And that is all myself and others need to know when it comes to that move.

Thanks for explaining it to me. Did not know it was that simple. I actually thought I had to do it the hard way and memorize every single number for each character's moves. Wish I knew that sooner though.

So just knowing if the move unsafe, safe, and giving advantage, or disadvantage. Don't think I ever saw move that gave anything past +9 on block though.

So I don't need to know the exact number of the move but as long as I know It worse than -8 on block or worse then it unsafe and punishable.

Thanks again. That really helped.

right. knowing keeping in mind the specific number or move you punish with helps too. For example if something is -12 you can punish with a 10 frame grab. You could remember it as -12 or just think like "whenever I see this move I should use a 10 frame grab."
