If Tengu isn't gonna be a playable character for DoA 5 then his chances will be much worse by DoA6. There will be more characters by then that would have higher priority then a dead boss character (previous existing cast list +new characters+ whatever cameos for marketing reasons) that appeared four games ago that apparently has a small yet vocal following outside of Japan

Very likely we will not see a DoA6 before 2016, in addition even if the community has a vocal side asking for Tengu, the players eager for it are too much few for justifying the purchase of a DoA game just for a such unpopular character.

If Tengu will not be released on DoA5U it will be just because considered not convenient to create him as a paid DLC character, not because TN or TK think that the character is a real incentive for buying the sequel of the game.

Number 13- The VF's likely won't be in 6 so that's 4 less characters to take care of.

Assuming TN decides to forgo any future cameo characters which I doubt due to the positive reception of the idea to pad up the roster size. Even then the VF characters were already largely finished to begin with outside of model refinements and DoA fight system conversion so them being omitted in a future title wouldn't necessarily free up enough time/money to create a character from scratch.

I think that the positive reception of the VF characters could be better addressed toward a crossover between DoA and VF (in this case yes, the possibility to use again such characters expanding the VF roster would be a real incentive for the players that like the interaction.).

Yeah I realized that it would depend on x character cameo to determine the general reaction, but the main reason TN would add a cameo character into game would be for marketing reasons. TN wants to maintain good relations with Sega and they respect the VF series so at the time they added VF cameos to pad the roster in exchange for essentially promoting the relatively recent console release of VF 5 FS.

I really hope Sega lets TN keep the VF characters in their game. I know guest characters don't usually remain for long, but God I love them so much!

Though, I do wanna throw out there, they did end up adding a new VF character in 5U (Jacky) that wasn't originally in 5, so it wouldn't surprise me too much if they decided to keep them for the next game as well.

They can easily do the same for whatever series in the next game and that would have higher priority (how early was Akira revealed?) over many characters especially the more niche ones.

I'd probably prefer a New VF release rather then hoping TN keep the VFs. VF is in need of a revive!

If by "need of a revive" you meant a cellphone VF card game being developed which is supervised by the creator himself then do I have good news for you. Lol
