Who are you playing against?

Everyone i fight keeps up insane stun and pressure on me and when i stun them, they seem to turn psychic no matter who i use. It's aggrvating somtimes having to rely so much on guessing right. I dont get how they keep doing it even when i mix things up.

Are you getting held a lot? I hit this wall a while back with Christie where people would just mash mid p hold and shut me down but then I learned some string delay and hold punishment to condition them not to do that shit. Also slow escaping is a crap shoot online but its worth trying anyways if you're in a stun.

Hey, That's DOA for you, i used to be in your position, trust me i know what you're going through. It's hard playing a FG like DOA, it's technical and hard to adjust to. But i kept playing, practicing and trying new things and discovering new tech every day. If u want, i could help you and bring some people so that we could have a practice session

Pressure is in every fighting game, to be fair. I know how to keep up the pressure and momentum simply because it's what I've learned how to establish by playing a lot (especially with my characters).

When you put someone in stun threshold, you want to have an A, B, C, and D as your options. Not just an A and B. If the stun is strong, it furthers your mix up potential because you have strikes at all 3 hit levels, two options at mid level (mid P and mid K including critical burst). Option D is your throw option if people hold out of stun, or you make them.

If your pressure is being stopped often, or you're being held (at neutral or threshold) often, it's simply because you are playing a pattern, rather than a mix up or any real pressure. You just to have make your set ups have at least options A-C to A-D.

That's the main problem as far as my offense, and i might just be making it too obvious. But somehow, when someone stuns me, no matter what i do, i cant hold them and it gets frustrating.

If I hit someone with Ayane's KK on neutral or counter hit, I have all options from A to D. So my mix up will not be linear and I can do what I want and make my opponent guess if I'll launch, continue threshold, or throw them. It's always a good thing to develop options in threshold. That way, you know what strikes you have available to you, rather than just that one set up.

Im just aggrivated right now because i feel like im making no progress, but ill learn how to handle all this eventually.

I would be careful about using holds unless it was absolutely necessary/I know exactly what they are going to do. Again online it doesn't work as well but a slow escape when done properly will get you out of most moderate stuns and leave you with what I like to call a broke man's fuzzy guard.

Thanks for the advice Hajin, gonna take Ayane and Kasumi into training mode and work on varying how i use them, because with them especially, i fall into patterns a lot.

If it's difficult to stop someone else's mix up, it means they are doing a good job at it. So you need to pay more attention as to how they are mixing you up. When do they use a mid P/mid K? When does the throw attempt usually happen? When does the launch come up often?

You'll have to keep in mind that you'll never be able to stop everything all the time. Sometimes, it's fine to take hits because you want to see how you're being set up/mixed up. If you pay attention to it that way, you will be a step closer at attempting to break it.
