Well he can be played up close or far away. He has great keepaway tools and knock backs. He's one of the best spacing/zoning characters. Characters at his speed or slower he is a monster up close. If you fighting characters faster(Kasumi, Christie, etc) It good to not be up close in their face for too long.

Strengths: High damage output, good set ups especially on back turned, fast strikes, can play the stun game really well, great spacing pretty safe, and good knock backs.

Weaknesses: a bit linear, mix ups aren't that great, crushes he has are very high risk, doesn't have the best deep stuns aside from a few moves.

Jann Lee's best range move is 66k so you want to utilize this a lot especially when players start whiffing moves.

Oh and another weakness I want to point out is that certain mix ups that he does leaves him unsafe like 6pp.

You are going to want to have a good balance of spacing and rushdown with him. His "get off me" moves you want to use are p+k, 66k, and 236p. His other keepout tools are good as well. 3kp/3k4kp, k4kp, 4h+k, and 7k.

Jann Lee is a really solid character. His major weakness is strong mix up game, but you can mix up with something like say p6p and then go for dragon gunner. 66p on hit gives a +12 advantage.

XD thanks Gurimmjaw! Don't be sorry! You'd be sorry if you just said "yeah he's good play him now" lol. I appreciate the input! Seems like he's a little bit like Momiji with the range (?) so the transition shouldn't be too steep lol.
