But nah...if it is then aww. The Paper Mario game (Especially that Gamecube one) were actually pretty good. I just thought they could of made one similar to SMRPG.

Technically, Paper Mario is the spiritual sequel. But that was because Nintendo believed to have a fallout with Square ever since Sony gave them what they needed to ensure their future at the time. Maybe now that SquareEnix has become more active with Nintendo, it could happen, should the demand be there.

The mario and luigi superstar saga games, and bowsers inside story are spiritual sequals to some degree as well.

Hell, I'm still waiting on an Eternal Darkness sequel.

LOVE eternal darkness! Definitely deserving of a sequel.
