I've gone through a dozen 360 controllers. The "good" ones last about three months before they become unresponsive trash.

The best one so far is the silver twist pad, which is the most expensive, and also breaks the easiest. The most durable would be the wired black 360 controller. All of them have an adjustment period, and all of them wear out and break.

If you decide to go the silver twist route, do not raise the dpad into the cross position. It sounds like a good idea, but it isn't. It will break incredibly fast, and I don't mean wear out. It will literally snap right off. The glue job is terrible.

Gotcha. So I take it it'll likely be to adapt or preference on other controllers.

Any good info on Converters/Adapters by any chance?

The only converter I ever used was the Cronus converter and apparently they are now banned at tournaments. I don't know what people are currently using, but as I am proficient in both PS3 and Xbox pads I simply come prepared for either eventuality.

If I'm going to a tournament with xbox I'll use a silver twist pad. If I'm going for PS3, I'm bringing a DS4.

Oh wow, I never thought converters in generals get banned at tournaments. I am new to converters so there's probably a motive behind it or stuff about converters I don't know about.

Gotcha. Thanks man.

EDIT: I was going to ask which controller you used for Xbox 360 but you managed to say it and I end up writing it right after your post. You prefer The DS4? or the Xbox pad?

In general, converters usually don't get banned. This specific converter does because it theoretically causes lag on the system itself. Which sucks, because it was honestly the best converter.

I can use the silver twist and the DS4 with about equal proficiency. They cannot be used the same way though. The Silver Twist requires finer movement and very slight motions, while the DS4 is consistent and firm but requires more force.

Applying too much force to the Silver Twist simply makes it break faster which, unfortunately, is destined to happen from the moment you open the box. Think of it like a glass weapon in an RPG. Very powerful to use, but has a short lifespan.
