Even if she isn't the main character like Kasumi she is still a really popular DoA character [At least in Japan anyway since several people on stream/videos pick her] despite her recent introduction in DoA5U.

The reason why for this popularity? Gothic Loli/pettanko/anything kawaii/ fans who probably never was interested in DoA before finally found a character to cling on to in a game full of males and well endowed women. Her playstyle further amplifies that appeal. Not to mention she would represent the "new faces" for the post release DoA5U characters.
