How come?

Not sure. After I did the update and tried restarting PS4 back up nothing will show and I hear 3 beeps too. I have hardly touched my PS4 and most time I played PS4 is about 5 hours total.

Looks like it's a glitch in the update that still hasn't been fixed based on the comment section.

seems many are having problems with this update. Only Sony have problems like this happen. Microsoft and Nintendo never had problems like this lol. I just hope this not permanent though it starting to look like it is

Turn off your console ,unplug it from the power source plug it back in and then try and turn it on from the ps4 button not the controller ,the problem that i have is that every time i go into rest mode to charge my controller it wont start up again unless i turn it off and back on ...i don't know about your 3 beeps tho

Unfortunately this happens. The update messed it all up. I had the PS4 only a few months. Never had such a problem with PS3. Well, looks like I got to buy a new PS4 lol.

I've had my ps3 since 2010 and it finally busted and it was just the hdmi port also(easily fixable), but i've just been hearing awful things and i don't want to get an xbox because i'm not fond of microsoft practices and not fond of their player base but eh

That is strange. I've looked it up as well and it seems to be just a faulty error on consoles taking the update and installing it. This is rare and it's just a console hardware installing it wrong, not all PS4s do this.

I'll keep researching it, but that is really strange and very unfortunate.

That might be the case, and there have been some users saying they cant properly turn the PS4 on and get a black screen. I basically get that and 3 beeps when trying to turn PS4 on. I will call Sony so I could see what the real problem might be.

If you find a solution to this somewhere let me know.

Yikes! Sorry to hear about this! Can you not replace the PS4 for a new one? Or is the warranty over?

I got it this year in September. I actually called up Sony about this and that im under warranty so I can get it fixed for free. I will be sending it to them in a few days. The guy said that it would take a total of 2-3 weeks when I get it back so not all bad, but I was enjoying The Evil Within...

They still coundn't explain the problem with the black screen and 3 beeps when booting up the console.

That's great for Sony to help fix it for you, although the wait is a bit much. Gonna have to play other games while you wait!
