Maybe there's hope that PS4 can at least cross play with PC since street fighter V is able to do that.

My understanding is that Team Ninja attempted to do this, but for whatever reason couldn't get it working.
If I had to guess I'd say it had to do with performance inconsistency between generations de-syncing matches regularly.
