I can't avoid this: It's Itadakimasu, which roughly means "Let's eat." A lot of anime will translate it as "Thanks for the meal" but that's because there isn't a true translation for English and that fits better with narrative

(Subs take a LOT of liberties with what characters are actually saying in the first place (subs are no more accurate than dubs - myth debunked)) so really, there'd likely be no real reason to say douitashimashite (you're welcome) after one says itadakimasu.

Thank you for the lesson lol. I knew I was spelling it wrong somehow i just couldn't figure it out. Anyway... she always cooks so yea... she decided "oh hey, i'm gunna take this gratitude"

I just had to say something. I see much worse than what you posted quite often but I never say anything. I'm happy that I didn't come off as such a dick that you took my comment positively (how I meant it). A lot of people try to learn Japanese through anime subs but you really need to take concurrent courses in the language to get anything accurate out of it.
