Honoka has lied about her age as a sort of nod to localization differences of age in past DOA games. That said, Honoka is officially 16.

Actually, where did this come from? Because, I know they kept some if the other characters' age ambiguous to avoid any sort of backlash (like Ayane).

You probably should have told the same thing to Kasumi/Ayane players from previous games (whose age was actually stated to be 17 and 16 respectively within their region) or Marie Rose players in spite her being "18" too. There was no official statement on Honoka's age other than 18 on the trailer... and why are we talking about Honoka's age anyhow?
