Anyways I always say you can win with a basic Rachel, but Helena is far more complicated. So be prepared to get sucked in when trying to learn Helena, lol.
Personally I tend to forget my own playstyle when I haven't played Helena in a while, while Rachel is easy to pick back up.
I have tried Helena before and I understand what you mean by complexity. Rachel is pretty much straightforward and her damage is great, that's why I like her.
Basically she reminds me a lot of my current main character Nyotengu. Only difference so far is that Rachel has an offensive by trading range.
Which Rachel sidestep you mean? Her normal or p+k 8/2?
And yes Nyotengu is like a very defensive and slow zoner and struggles up close so a lot of characters can definitely wrekt her in an instant.
Rachel's grabs are delicious. I'm just struggling a lot with her stomp kick game. For some reason i dash to get in close but i keep getting regular 2K.
The stomp works best if you don't hold the 2. Once you hold down it becomes a regular 2K. Really tho, her stomp is not that good. I mean if you land it, it's great.
There's just a few setups where she's safe after it. If you dash in dry and try to stomp while they tech up, they get a free throw.
Thanks again, I'll look around the forums to find some stomp setups to practice.
Btw when do you recommend to use Rachel's p+K sidestep? I understand is good for moves that do not track but anything else in neutral I should be aware of?
Yeah I do recommend it. The mix ups are beautiful and it's useful for closing gaps. The twirl kick can force tech and as a Helena player I love low sweeps. The punch is a launcher that leads to her air throw shenanigans. Also if they get hold happy on your low sweep, launch them with the punch.
