I like strategy games, and I'm a Fire Emblem buff, tell me. Do I NEED to buy this game?

If you like FE then absolutely, but prepare for an even more depressing game. Soldiers die permanently like FE but here your whole squad can be wiped out because of one bad move. If you haven't promoted another fireteam, that can literally end your campaign lol. It's so good.

Well, in FE if I lost even one character that meant a restart of the chapter, even if I didn't use the character. I'm one of those "never leave a man behind" type of players. I think I'll be fine. But yeah, definitely picking it up as soon as I get the chance.

This game doesn't really allow it unless you dashboard. The higher difficulties also autosave every turn lol. All I can tell you is either play a lower difficulty or prepare to lose soldiers. A lot of them.

That sounds scary lol. I tend get attached to my units, especially when I grow to like them. Easy road this will not be. Is there any possibility a soldier can survive from the beginning of the game to the end or is that farfetched?

Depends, really. I'm nearing the end of my campaign and everyone I started with is dead, but that's mostly due to being unfamiliar with things early on. I have two Snipers with me right now that have been at max rank for damn near the whole campaign and an Assault that's maybe an mission or two younger than them. My Supports and Heavies...well, they haven't been so lucky.

But hey! My research teams have finally started getting me into high end armor, so my dudes are lasting much longer lol. This is a MUCH deeper game than FE. The combat is almost all of FE. This game has more layers, though the story is of lesser importance.

You have to juggle your standing forces, their abilities (you can fully customize everything from their look to class perks to names), your research teams, engineering, the layout of your base, what nations you choose to fully support, which ones you're willing to lose (losing nations that support you hurts dearly and can eventually cost you the game)

..., whether to risk your soldiers' lives to try and take an enemy alive (nets research bonuses as well as not destroying their equipment so you can use it before you research it). SOOOO GOOD...the list goes on and on man.

Wish it wouldn't limit me to 420 characters haha.
