Gen Fu is takes less effort than Leifang. Whatever stage Gen Fu is in, it benefits him. Any water surface stage, his favor. Any ceiling stage, his favor. Whatever matchup Gen Fu is against, it's always in his favor.
Leifang doesn't a 1P that causes a slip stun on counter hit. She used to have 2K that used to high crush but TN retarded asses nerfed that. Leifang doesn't have a move that makes her opponent launch to the ceiling except the Power Launcher but that would mean I have to have my health bar at 50% and Gen Fu can do his ceiling launching move without power launcher. Things like that can be very lopsided.
Having ceiling and slip stun moves is also a tool, which she doesn't really have. Leifang players have to have good reads in order to land the tools that she has.
For example, it's essential for Leifang players to control the neutral game because she can use her parries. When she lands her parries successfully, that's where her stun game can begin. If she's up against a mashy character, say... Rig or Sarah, it's easy for them to start a stun game and difficult for Lei to start hers. Mashy characters can land counter hits a lot easier than Leifang can.
LoL.... Lei Fang is okay I think.... all the parries and sabaki's and offensive holds are easy to access.
With Sarah I have to Slide If I want to parry and I have to step if I want to use an Offensive hold, I have to enter Flamingo if I want to use her Command Side Step. The Sabaki is the only one thats easily accessible but even then all it gives me is +6. I think thats a really akward collection of tools.
It would be fair for Lei to have access for them easily because she's not a mashy character. If she was a mashy character, then people have every right to complain about her defensive tools.
Really ? I never really got that, its not like she would be able to do two things at once if she was pressure heavy like Rig.
Thats the thing I never understood about Virtua Fighter's Evade Dash Cancel mechanic, oh and fuzzy guarding. Your opponent can't strike and throw you at the same time so why do you need a technique thats design to beat both throws and strikes ?
I'm just saying.... lets give her some mash tactics and see what happens.... just look at Alpha... shes surviving despite all the changes.... I'm just curious as tol how far you can push this game's limits in terms of a more Asymmetrical roster.
@Fullmetal actually lei fang can be extremely offensive, that's the thing 3p+k is extremely strong, 1p+k basically evades everything and something like p4kk, 1+p+k is a safe frame trap, unshu T has guaranteed damage to a lvl 3 stun state, her pl goes like half screen and catches horrible whiffs in neutral, her 66t is so hard to see
The thing with 3P+K you have to know when to block it. A Leifang player can't always stick with 3P+K and it depends on what moves you do and how much disadvantage the Leifang player is on block after he or she finishes a string.
1P+K is a good crusher but it's not invincible. The Unshu T OH does gives her guaranteed damage and outs opponents on lvl 3 critical but landing the OH can be a challenge at times. It's effective using it in a stun game because it forces you to hold, go for a crouch to avoid the OH reset, or if you simply stand there and do nothing, you're going I eat it. Lei still has to make a good call on that Unshu OH.
