Jokes aside, I never liked it when people used the term "main" so loosely.

You can main, sub/co-main characters, but your circle of characters have to be relatively small. Like 1 to 4. Like have 1 main & then the rest as pockets, but not "main" a ton of characters

Yeah, when you "main" 12 characters it's probably safe to say you just play multiple characters. lol

I main Christie in her C3 in DOA4, Christie in her C2 in DOAD, and Christie in her C2 in DOA5.

You really only have 1 main and others are secondaries. Though should be small about 1-3 characters.

^Exactly. Most don't get that lol. You don't main a bunch of characters. I have 1 true main & then you play the rest. Playing a ton of characters like that slows you down, too unless you FOR SURE have a main character. That's why they're called "your main". It's the character that you spend the most time with & will win you matches no matter what.
