how the hell is that even possible? I just wasted money on an xbox one controller. What kind of god damn controller do I need? Will an xbox 360 controller work?

I imagine a 360 controller would work. I use a DS4 that is emulated to make the computer think its a 360 pad.

the Xbox One controller problem happens when you upgrade to Windows 10. Windows 10 downloads the incorrect driver by default. You have to manually tell it to install the correct driver in your device manager.

Basically windows 10 installs it as a 360 controller that's why. So the button assignments get all messed up.
Go to the device manager while the controller is plugged in, then select to update the driver, among the choices should be a "Xbox One controller" option, choose that. You might have to restart.

Thx for the help. I restarted my PC like 20 times uninstalling and reinstalling drivers. I even bought xpadder to remap but doa5 just overrides it every time.
