I usually PP at the beginning of the match or in neutral, but 8P I don't see how it would be good except for jumping over lows, and 66K can do just that, but launch.
The thing I like about PP is that it retracks if timed right, It can even catch Bayman and Hayate if they perform their special step. What I also like about PP is that it's a string and provides a hold bait since Akira is out of recovery if it lands in a stun, they have to hold the last punch instantly to get out of it.
However you are correct that you can just toss a P and do whatever since the advantage is high from a jab stun anyway.
8P can actually stun the opponent believe it or not if performing a low WUK. Has to be timed almost perfect for that to happen though, (probably won't be consistent enough to get it right, even I wouldn't try to attempt this..but I would go ballsy just to try I suppose)
Good point @samuraihachi . I've watched a few in the past along along with those JPN heavy hitters that use him in that game yet I barely see them use it at all either.
Now that I think about it, didn't JC Akira use PP a couple times during his matches against E-mann. I remember it and it stuffed quite a bit of Helena's bokuho attacks.
@samuraihachi He did, he used PP quite a bit, actually. And while 8K does jump over lows and launches, 66K still has the K followup just in case someone wants to mash.
Yeah JC did, even after 214P because PP can catch Bokuho duck since the last punch mid is true.
@Heikou is correct, I neglect WR6PP because I tend to forget he has that. It's like Raidou's 4H+K or Leon's wake up mount throw. I always forget that they have they them. Not to mention that WR6P (First hit at a certain distance cannot be thrown.)
In fact, @Heikou@samuraihachi@Hazard you guys are giving me hope to try these moves now. You can probably toss 8K after a really deep stun from 1P or 4P+K. Imagine tossing 1P at maximum red threshold and you do 8K. Like who's going to expect that since it's a launch that isn't a mid.
