@ToKyo PewPew Haha, very funny! /:-p @Dark-truth I don't know what's his deal, but no there is one other black guy in class. He always moves me because I sit closest to his desk. I do finish my work on time, so what's the deal..?
Art is literally the only class I feel comfortable speaking openly in with my friend Shakiera, but he always moves me for chatting even though everyone else does the same and he sees it. He better be happy that I'm not violent like the rest of these wannabe hoodrats and ghettos girls at my school. XD
Getting punished for talking in art class of all things? In every art class I've been in in school there was never a moment when people weren't talking.
@Chapstick He's just really ignorant, I work and get my paintings and drawings done on time, but he moves me to another table because he thinks I'm "distracting" my friend, which I'm not. I'll admit, I'm really chatty, but I still get the job done
And then when he moves me he tries to talk to me and fuss because of me talking, and when I try to tell him I'll get my work done regardless, he shushs me. And he wonders why I'm cold to him now...
First of all, when you get to college and have art classes you will be expected to be social. That teacher is having a bit of a culture shock because when you want focused solo work don't. Have. A. Class.
And I HATE it when instructors zone in on one kid. It's basically implying the person needs it as a mental health accommodation. I would speak with him and let him know.
@lotr9690 I see your point, I have tried talking to him but he's completely argumentative. He's also ignorant towards my thoughts on the matter, because I angrily(loud enough for him to hear) pointed out his targeting only me to a friend, but he acted like he didn't hear me...
Working as a guest docent for figure and nude drawing in uni, this is quite interesting to read...
One thing though:
Suspecting the teacher must be racist right off the bat when hearing Kasumilover's story...I have no words.
If you think your teacher is open enough to talk to you about that, talk to him about that. That would be the easiest way to find out. But if you talk to him do it politely not accusing him of anything right off the bat. There may or may not be a reason why he seems to be especially so aware of you in class.
Wow! He sounds awful. God I want to switch places so bad with you so I can go to the principle.
If a teacher is targeting you I would send a message that you are serious and calmly have a talk with the principle or dean with your dad present. Because it sounds like that guy is not willing to work with you.
You mustn't sound accusive, as if you already know he has a problem with you or he will very likely become defensive. We all would in a similar situation!
What I would try first actually, as simple as it sounds, just follow the rules and don't talk in class. That way you will also see if he really has a problem with you in case he is still unfair to you.
Tbh if it was me I'd just deal with it rather than going to the principal about a teacher not wanting me to talk in class especially with what, two more months of this school year left?
As much as I like chatting, I'll have to give that a shot, maybe if I show him that I can spend the whole class period painting without so much as a word, he may soften up and stop focusing on me. :-D I mean, I'm not a problem student after all, it won't be that hard
